MFO
A loan to a citizen of a neighboring country
An MFO lends to a labor migrant whose credit history sits with a bureau in their home country.
Situation
The client has worked in the MFO’s country for a long time but has no credit history there. Their history is held by a bureau in their home country, and the MFO has no direct access to that bureau. Without a check, the options are to decline or to lend blindly.
How it works
- 01The loan origination system creates a check via the API and receives a link for the borrower
- 02The borrower downloads the report in their bureau’s app and uploads it via the link from their phone
- 03The platform verifies the bureau signature, breaks down obligations and matches identity
- 04Government databases and sanctions lists of the borrower’s country are checked automatically
- 05A summary with a recommendation arrives in the origination system by webhook
Result
The decision is made on verified data about the borrower’s debts at home. Disputed applications go to an analyst, and the rest pass through without manual work.
